Preserving the Magic: How to Care for Your Vintage Glass Ornaments

1. Acclimatization is Key
   When your parcel arrives from the cold, do not open it immediately. Let the box sit at room temperature for at least 2–3 hours. Sudden temperature changes can cause micro-cracks in the fragile glass or damage the silvering (amalgam) inside.
2. The "No-Water" Rule
   Never wash vintage ornaments with water or cleaning chemicals. Moisture can get inside through the metal cap and destroy the delicate paint or silver coating. Use only a very soft, dry artist’s brush to gently whisk away dust.
3. Handle with Care
   Your hands have natural oils that can leave marks on old paint. If possible, handle your ornaments wearing thin cotton gloves or hold them only by the metal hanging cap.
4. Safe Storage
